About this module
Designed to support students with finding their footing in high school by building agency, confidence and a sense of choice.
Starting high school can feel like a lot. New routines, new teachers, new expectations and shifting friendships can all arrive at once. Many students are still developing the skills to regulate big emotions, speak up for themselves and make considered choices. At this stage, many students are learning how to participate actively rather than feeling carried along by what is happening around them.
WHAT TO EXPECT
This workshop supports students in the early stages of high school, when everything is still taking shape. Facilitators create a calm and supportive environment where students are invited to notice how participation and choice influence their experience. Through discussion, reflection and simple regulation activities, students explore identity, behaviour and expectations in ways that feel accessible and age appropriate. The session closes by inviting students to reflect on the kind of person they want to be at school and how their everyday choices can support that.
